Charger volleyball’s varsity squad rounded their early season record of 1-1 following an imposing home game win over division rival Mt. Pleasant. A dominant first set score of 25-13 set the tone for the rest of the match and propelled the Chargers to win the second and third set 25-23 and 26-24 respectively, stealing a 3-0 victory. A strong turnout from the student section may have helped out with team performance.
“The whole home court advantage thing is legit, it gives you the energy that the other team just doesn’t have,” said junior Gabrielle Wilson.
The Chargers are ranked 57th in the state and 33rd in Class A. Their next game is away at Flint Powers Catholic, Sep. 17 at 7:00pm.
