Bowler makes it to finals for team’s first year back

Sixteen-year-old sophomore Nathan Painter started bowling with his step family about five years ago. Being in his early teens, he soon found inspiration. Nathan’s step father, Joe Lunsford was his inspiration. Lunsford is not only Painter’s inspiration but he is also the 2015 DHS bowling team coach. With a high score of 251, Painter is the first and only student at DHS who made it to 2015 Boys Bowling Finals.

“It is very exciting to have this opportunity,” Painter said. “It’s going to be a very difficult day with a pattern I don’t like but, hopefully, I make the 16 cut.”

With everything Painter’s had to do in his five years of bowling, from his approach, to following through, Painter has made a strike. On Mar. 6 and Mar. 7, Nathan represented DHS in the 2015 Bowling Finals.
