Following two wins in Traverse City over the holiday break, the DHS varsity basketball team lost their first game back from break, falling to host Mt. Pleasant, 67-39. The game was competitive until the third quarter when DHS only scored three points, allowing for Mt. Pleasant to pull away for a blow out win.
“We played well over winter break in Traverse City,” junior Alec Marty said. “We need to play like that on a more consistent basis.”
Senior Evan Marquardt led Dow with 12 points and Marty added seven.
“We didn’t come out with much energy after half and they came out fast and we could never recover,” junior Mason Hayes said.
Dow (4-3 overall) hosts Flint Carmen-Ainsworth today at 7:30 pm.
“Flint will be just as good if not better than Mt. Pleasant, we really need to bring our A-game if we want to pull out a win,” Hayes said.
