The annual Homecoming parade takes place on Thursday, Sept. 28. The parade is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. The parade will take a different route this year, due to construction on Perrine Road. It will begin on the corner of West Sugnet Road and West Main Street and travel down Main Street to end at the DHS parking lot on the corner of Main Street and Saginaw Road.
The parade impacts the community outside of DHS as well, and every year members of the community line up along the parade route to watch. A plethora of groups walk in the parade including sports teams, varying clubs, the Homecoming Court, and the marching band. Classes and clubs, like Go Green, will be carrying banners to represent their group.
“I really like [leading the band],” drum major Gabby Montano said. “It’s nice to be the head of the band and to be able to show off our hard work. I love seeing all the other parades but I love marching in the band, getting to hear the music as we march down.”
