On Jan. 30, Update will temporarily run the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s (MIPA) Instagram page for the day. 

“We’re going to be taking over the MIPA Instagram to kind of give a little look into what we do on Update and we’re going to be doing it through the week of production,” junior Sophie Ungerleider said. “I think we’re going to show a lot about what’s what we do in production, like the typical process and how we get the paper ready to go.”

The Update staff will be working on the final steps of publishing the paper on Jan. 30, and MIPA’s Instagram followers will get a firsthand look at what the Update staff go through to release a polished paper. 

MIPA will be promoting numerous school’s journalism programs from around the state with Instagram takeovers starting on Jan. 13 with no set end date. 

“I think we’ll post some videos, and some pictures and kind of just get a feel of what maybe some of the other schools are doing so [we] can see what’s going to be the most effective way to show everybody what we do,” Ungerleider said.
