The boys varsity basketball team welcomes new head coach Ken Cook. Assisting him is Mike Skinner. Cook felt that the team was solid defensively but will need more work offensively.
“I have a great deal of previous experience but just nothing at the varsity level with, with high school so I’m a bit apprehensive for Wednesday night,” Cook said.
His previous coaching experience was working with homeschooled students on the team Tri-City Lightning.
“We definitely brought a lot of changes in the season in terms of players and even the coaching staff and we’re excited to just get after it and starting the season strong on Wednesday night, and just bringing sort of energy and excitement to both the program and the school that I don’t think we’ve had the basketball program for years,” senior Danny Safadi said.
The Chargers faced off against Bay City Central Wed., Dec. 7 where they won with a score of 84-62. They travel to Bullock Creek High School Fri., Dec. 9 for a 7 pm game.
