Girls JV and varsity basketball teams both competed away against Flint Powers on Jan. 14. Both teams were victorious, the JV team ending the close game 39-32 and the varsity team closing out their game 53-36. JV played first, starting at 5:30 p.m., and played a difficult game to ultimately improve their overall record. The varsity team followed at 7:00 p.m. and played a dynamic game overall. The new JV record stands at a record of wins and losses, where the varsity team stands at 7 wins and 2 losses. Both teams are working hard to improve in the weeks leading up to the Midland-Dow game.
“We’ve been working to get better everyday, we’re currently 7-2, and we have Midland High coming up in a couple of weeks so we’re looking to get some revenge on them,” sophomore Kourtney Fischer said.
The next game for both teams is home against Bay City Central on Jan. 28.
