DHS JV and varsity wrestling have recently held tryouts and have started their season training for the winter season. The Chargers have not yet competed in their first match of the year, but have been spending time preparing for the upcoming events.
“I feel like we’re going to be very well prepared because Coach Doyle and Coach Wardell put us through some good drilling and we get a lot done in practices,” sophomore Evan Chronowski said.
Chronowski and the rest of the team have been spending their time training in hopes that the practices will pay off.
“They’re going very well,” Chronowski said. “There’s a lot of good energy in the practices and they’re all working hard and we’re getting a lot done.”
The team has been holding practices as of Nov. 18. Chronowski has been already thinking about what he hopes to accomplish this winter.
“I just want to be better at learning more because I’m still new at it, so I’ll try and keep learning how to and stuff,” Chronowski said.
The Charger’s first meet will be held at Carman-Ainsworth High School on Dec. 11 at 6:00 against multiple opponents.
