The girls Varsity Tennis team faced Powers Catholic High School Thursday, April 21, and had high expectations for themselves.
“Our goal as a team is to win and to try and not lose games so that we can be seeded higher in the state tournament,” sophomore Christina VanderKelen said.
To prepare, the team made sure to stay hydrated due to the forecasted heat.
DHS defeated Powers 8-0, and this was the first win in a Dual match against Powers in 4 years.
“Everyone won their matches and no one struggled,” sophomore Mina Fabiano said.
Fabiano and her partner Tatum Matthews won 6-0 6-0.
As a team Fabiano said they achieved their goal.
