The DHS varsity boys swim and dive team is set to have their first meet at home taking on Lapeer on Dec. 12. With the 2014 season underway, the team is beginning to finally come together. Seeing as the season is just starting, the practices haven’t been set for certain times but the boys meet whenever the coaches are free. As the season progresses, the practices will be longer and harder but for now the team is excited to get to know each other and work to their strengths.
“This year, I’m pretty excited to have an actual dive coach rather than just a swim coach,” senior Jake Davidson said. “Having two separate coaches will help out the team tremendously with balancing both swim and dive. What I’m most excited for, however, is growing closer to my team and learning new dives we haven’t done yet.”
Davidson, after only having a few practices, is expecting the swim team to do great things this year and cannot wait to see how they place at their first upcoming meet.
