Dow High Choir Rummaging Toward Washington DC

The DHS Choir is having a Rummage Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 20 to raise money to take the choir to Washington DC in May of 2015 to perform at the National Memorial Day Celebration.

“Choir was invited to go to this event and it’s not an experience everyone gets to do. This trip will help our program grow because of the recognition,” choir treasurer and sophomore Emily Baldwin said.

The day will begin at DHS at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. with items for sale such as adults and children’s clothing, exercise equipment, furniture/electronics, small appliances, toys, books, and much more. If students are unable to attend on Sept. 20, but would like to participate in the cause, donations are welcome from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that day. Students will also be able to purchase Great Lakes Ice Cream during the rummage sale.

“We hope lots of people will come shop for bargains and support the singers,” choir director, Tracey Kempsell said.
