DHS girls soccer having another great season

The Dow High Girls varsity soccer team is off to a fast start this season as they pushed their record to 13-1 after a 7-0 home win over Bay City Central. Leading Dow was sophomore Maya Piper who scored three times, along with senior Rachel Marble scoring once and adding two assists. Senior Kaitlan Vossen also scored a goal on a penalty kick. Sophomore Amanda Pokriefka and freshman Madelyn Vossen each added a goal for Dow. The Chargers had 38 shots on goal throughout the game. Senior Hannah Piper had two assists, and senior Heather Derstine had one.

A few days later, the girls fell to cross town rival Midland High 1-0. This dropped the girls record to 13-2 on the season. The Chargers played well defensivly, but were unable to put one in the net on offense.

However, only a few days later the girls won the Saginaw Valley League tournament.  The Charger soccer team is Valley Champions again!
