Key Club, which originally met at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons, has changed their meetings times so that they can get more members to attend. One meeting will be held before school at 7:15 a.m. and the second is after school at 2:35 p.m. Both of these meetings will provide the same information, as well as updates on upcoming projects and events.
“The rationale behind it is we were thinking it helps accommodate to a lot of kids who don’t have seventh hours or they have sports conflicts or other conflicts immediately after school,” President Kera Metz said. “We are really hoping that the 7:15 in the morning and the 2:30 after school gets those kids to the meetings. The meetings are only like ten minutes, so you can make your sports practices and get to other commitments.”
With the new times, the club is hoping for increased attendance as well as more participation from students.
“We’re hoping it’ll be more successful, keeping our fingers crossed,” Metz said. “We’re really hoping that this will help to increase membership, we’ll just switch back if it doesn’t.”
