While BPA, Business Professionals of America, may have the reputation of a small club, the club was able to bring more than three times the number of members than last year to their Regional competition, which took place on Jan. 5. Many members were anxious for their first competition, but the results were positive, as over half of the participants qualified for the state competition in March.
“Overall I would say that the club did very well and had a fun time attending regionals,” senior Mackenzie Pirie said. “Each participant in BPA did their best and was the best they could be.”
Pirie placed third in her event, Advanced Accounting, and was fairly pleased that the team was able to perform so well.
“My favorite part of regionals was the experience as a whole and hanging out with such a fantastic group of people all day,” Pirie said. “It was a great time and I think more people should look into doing BPA in upcoming years.”
