Why Marvel Studios is so great

Marvel Studios, LLC is one of the world’s biggest film companies, and for a good reason. Marvel has produced a multitude of different films based on Marvel Comics. Marvel has also produced more than 30 films in the iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel Studios has had great success, grossing more than 31 billion dollars in total box office revenue, but here’s what really makes Marvel films so great.

Variety and creativity in plots

From T’challa fighting to be the rightful king of Wakanda in “Black Panther,” to the Guardians of the Galaxy stopping Ronan and Thanos from using the orb to destroy the universe in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Marvel Studios has no problem creating a variety of different storylines to keep viewers interested.

Great character design

It’s hard to argue against Marvel Studios when it comes to iconic characters. Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, and Captain America, are just a few in Marvel’s long list of iconic characters.

Every Marvel hero and villain has a unique backstory, certain strengths, and flaws. Being able to relate to a character is what draws people to them, and that is one of the things Marvel does best. Not only do characters in Marvel films feel entirely real, but they also tend to have character arcs which add to the overall interest of films.

For example, Tony Stark—also known as Iron Man—is at first presented as an arrogant, self-obsessed man. However, throughout the progression of the MCU, we can see how that changes. By being influenced by loved ones, friends, and difficult circumstances, Tony ends up sacrificing his life to save billions of others.

Another aspect of Marvel character design is villains. While many films tend to pose villains as pure evil, sometimes with no apparent reasons for their evil schemes, Marvel shows us the backstories behind the villain’s evil. Sometimes, villains have good motives or become overwhelmed by feelings of love, anger, or grief, causing them to do evil things. This is something many viewers can relate to, which adds to the emotional connection of Marvel Films.

Set Design

Marvel also has some epic battle and fight scenes using CGI to seamlessly blend sci-fi and real life together. One of the most iconic battle scenes was the major battle scene from “Marvel’s Avengers,” when aliens dropped through a portal in New York. This scene used an incredibly designed set and impressive CGI to create a very realistic and intense moment in the film.

Positive Messages

While Marvel films may not be as educational as documentaries, there are still things to be learned. When Marvel characters face difficult situations and moral dilemmas, they learn powerful lessons on bravery, honesty, and many more important things. Characters do have flaws; although they might be super, they are still human at the end of the day.

Marvel emphasizes the fact that working as a team is much better than working alone. Marvel is known for their super teams, whether iconic duos such as Ant-Man and The Wasp, Deadpool and Wolverine, and Wanda and Vision, or larger groups such as the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, or the Fantastic Four.

The fact that Marvel is able to excel in so many different just goes to show how great Marvel is.
