The Chargers defeated the Chemics 4-0 on Sept. 28, 2024. All four of Charger’s points were cored in the second half of the match. Scoring a point each were seniors Justin Alade and Nito Esan and sophomore Brandon Okoro. Senior goalies Luke Bills and Evan Pfeiffer had two saves each.
Varsity soccer coach Cody Schoener explained how the team dynamics changed in this game.
“Up to this point, we weren’t quite gelling,” Schoener said. “This was a very big night for them to realize they’re fully capable of being a super strong team.”
Alade described how he felt about playing MHS.
“You’re a little nervous. We’re [playing] soccer, not football,” Alade said. “People don’t typically don’t show up to our games, but they show up to the Midland-Dow game because it’s a rivalry. There’s actually a student section giving you support.”
The boys varsity soccer team faces off against Saline at Saline High School on Sept. 21, 2024.
