While the football team faces Traverse City West for the homecoming game on Sept. 29, at Midland Community Stadium, the marching band is also eager to show off their work during the halftime show.

“We have been working hard on our drill pieces at band camp and at our practices,” drum major Gabby Montano said. “So I’m really excited to show you our little surprises that we have this year.” 

Drum major John Davis recently worked with a marching band alumni Grant Wang to compose new music for this year’s halftime show. Most times it’s band directors composing.

“We’ve not done that in a while, so that’s why it’s really impactful to the drum majors,” Davis said.

Recently, it was announced that the halftime show was Era’s theme. The band will be taking the crowd on a trip through the last 50 years. The Era’s theme is also blended with the popular Taylor Swift Era’s Tour, adding in some of Swift’s most popular songs.
