Join band, orchestra, and choir for their upcoming festivals or congratulate them on their wins. Festival is where the music programs of schools from across the valley join together and perform to each other and also get judged. Green Band had their festival last Friday, March 3 at Bay City Western, and got all division one ratings which are the highest achievement that a person can get. Both Chorus and Chamber Singers also got division one ratings at Central Michigan University on Monday, March 6 and they are going to states. Concert Orchestra got a division two rating last Saturday, March 4. Symphonic Band and Gold Concert Bands will be performing March 11 at Frankenmuth High School. Symphonic Orchestra will perform on March 10 at Frankenmuth High School at 8:15 p.m. Gold Band plays at 2:20 p.m. and Symphonic Band plays at 4:40 p.m., and it does not cost anything to go see these two bands at Frankenmuth.
According to choir teacher Megan Farison, festival helps students “experience healthy competition and to grow as musicians.”
