Six DHS runners head to States

The DHS girls and boys track teams will both be represented at States this Saturday.

Competing for the girls are senior Carlee McGee, juniors Beth Hoffman and Amanda Kline, sophomore Nadia Atton, and freshman Maija Rettelle. Sophomore Emily Wall, Dow’s fastest runner, was unable to come to States due to a prior commitment.

Without Wall, the girls will need to make some adjustments in their 4 x 800 meter relay and have Atton step into Wall’s place.

“Since we’ll be missing our fastest runner I think our goal is to compete and try to run a time that’s close to what we’ve been running lately and just run the best that we can,” McGee said.

The boys track team is represented by senior Nick Coon who will be running the 200 and 400 meter dash.

They will be competing this Saturday, May 30th, at Rockford High School in Grand Rapids. For more information, go here.
