The boys swim and dive team, who had an impressive 8-1 season, not including their wins at the Forest Hill Invite and Tri Cities, won the SVL championship and will have 10 swimmers and one diver heading to States.
These swimmers include: freshman Jacob Krzciok, sophomores Noah Behm and Alex Owens, juniors Nehemiah Mork, Beau Matthews, Ben Brandstadt, Nick Pixton, Tyler Befus, and Nick Pixton, senior Zach Hoffman, and freshman diver Hunter Grannum.
“The boys swam very well,” swim coach Gary Strickler said. “[It was] one of the best SVL championships I have seen by my team. Best team since the 2006 team that was state runner-up.”
Gary Stickler has high hopes for everyone, however, he is very confident that “Most Valuable Swimmer,” Nehemiah Mork, will be seeded first in two events at States. This seems fitting after Mork beat four records at the SVL Championships last week.
Those interested in supporting the DHS boys swim team, States will be held on Sat., Mar. 14 in Holland, Mich.
