As many people in the Midland community are aware, a tragedy struck on Jan. 9 as Thomas Saunders, a DHS junior was hit by a car as he was walking to school. Saunders has already been subject to two surgeries, one immediately after the accident, and is currently in intensive care at MidMichigan Medical Center. Although Saunders is progressing, he is in the beginning stages of what looks to be a long recovery. In order to demonstrate support and aid his family during this time of need, a friend of Saunders’ mother has set up an opportunity for the people of the Midland community and beyond to give back.
