Emotional loss for boys varsity soccer team to cross-town rival

On Oct. 17, at 4:30 pm, cross-town rivals DHS and MHS took the soccer fields at DHS. This was the varsity soccer team’s second game in the district playoffs. MHS scored early on in the first half from a free kick. Chargers were down a goal and had to play more aggressively on offense. They were unable to stop the Chemics with two more goals in the second half resulting in the final score of 0-3.

Junior Ricky Knoff was playing goalie for the Chargers. Seniors Kei Yamomoto, Brendan McNamara, Ben Goodwin, Austin Weick, David Curry, Keenan Hammer and Rafael Do-nascimento played their last game of their high school career. The boys ended their season at 12-4-3.
