The DHS Chargers are celebrating their second win this season over their hometown rival, MHS. After beating the Chemics 49-28 on Oct. 23 in both schools’ last regular-season game, the rival teams went on to play each other again in Friday night’s District 2 semifinal.
The Chemics put up a fight in hopes of redemption, but in the end the Chargers won with a score of 42-7. This was the first time in school history that DHS has won a playoff game against MHS.
With their first playoff win under their belts, DHS will go on to play Fenton away on Friday, Nov. 6. Both schools have 9-1 records. DHS is in high spirits, hoping for their first district championship since 1997.
