Last Friday, the DHS cafeteria was filled with excitement as the first hour Sales and Merchandising class presented their annual Prom Fashion Show. The students in this class worked hard all second semester to make the show as successful as it could be.

The Prom Fashion Show took place during both school lunches in the cafeteria. The show included a flowered arch at the entrance, a runway, lights, music, emcees, models and lots of prizes.

The whole show was organized by the class’ students and their teacher Mrs. DeBoer. Students in the class were all given a chance to be a part of the show. Some students chose to model the dresses and tuxes while others did behind the scene activities.

Students who were not models were responsible for getting sponsors for the event and for making posters for promotions. These students were also involved in setting up the cafeteria for the show.

This show would not be able to go on without the many companies who sponsored it. Sponsors included MW Tux, In-Session Salon, Lil Pear Tree, Village Green, Above the Bay Limo and Johnson’s Flowers.

All of these sponsors contributed to the show by donating tuxes to be modeled, doing the female models’ hair and makeup and providing different flower arrangements.

Another exciting feature of the Prom Fashion Show was the many prizes offered to students during their lunch hour. Some prizes included gift cards to Coffee Chaos, American Eagle, 7-Eleven and NCG Cinemas.

The show concluded with In-Session Salon giving a $25 dollar gift card for the winner to get their hair done for prom and Above the Bay Limo giving a $50 dollar gift card for the winner to rent a limo for prom.
