The annual Marching Band Showcase will bring talent, structure and toil to the Midland High football field on Wednesday, Sept. 8. for the enjoyment of the locals of Midland. Beginning at 5:55 p.m. with a singing of the National Anthem, the Showcase will present 11 marching bands. Each band is allowed a 15 minute display of their talent, with DHS being the last to perform. With competition such as Bullock Creek, Ogemaw Heights, and MHS, the DHS band expects a night of exuberance and elation.
“We are playing for a knowledgeable audience, and it’s really neat to play for a very attentive, knowledgeable, quiet audience and see them respond to the cues that we’ve built into the show,” marching band director, Steven Derees said.
At a small admission fee, $5 for adults and $2 for children, the Marching Band Showcase is a sight to behold.
