As the school year begins, one of DHS’ most talented clubs is ready to get started. The Robotics Club, known for its positive, knowledgeable, and fun environment, has high hopes for the upcoming year.

“We want to make it to Worlds again, but it’s also about learning as much as we can and having fun,” senior Samir Gupta said.

The atmosphere that Gupta described brings the club members together to plan, design, and assemble robots throughout the school year. The students must invest a substantial amount of their time to the Robotics Club, but the experience provides opportunities unlike any other club. The students not only enjoy themselves, but also gain exceptional knowledge in different fields.

“[Robotics Club members cover] engineering, business, programming, and even photography,”  junior Caitlyn Myers said.

Club instructor, Sean Murray, held the club’s first meeting on Sept. 15 where they welcomed new and old members into the club. They also discussed their upcoming competitions, two of which will be held at DHS. With so much to look forward to, Robotics members are geared up and excited to see what the upcoming year has in store for them.
