Spanish Club welcomes new members as they create electric banner

Spanish Club is an after school club that teaches students about Spanish culture through entertaining activities. The main focus of Spanish Club is participating in cultural activities like singing Spanish songs, performing Spanish dances, and eating Spanish food.

“It is crucial for students to be involved in clubs such as Spanish Club to learn about cultures other than our own,” Spanish Club president, junior Sarah Redman said.

Teacher Mary Swanson invites all students to join Spanish Club, no matter if the student is involved in any Spanish classes or not. All that students have to do to join is sign in to three or four meetings.

Currently, Spanish Club is making a banner to carry in the homecoming parade. The banner is super hero-themed, and Relámpago, which means lightning, is the chosen hero. Any students interested in art are welcome to help create the banner and display their Spanish Club pride.

Spanish Club is a fun celebration of culture for students at DHS to be involved with. Any students who are looking to hang out with friends and enjoy Spanish activities on Mondays after school are welcome to join Spanish Club this year.
