Big Expectations for Boys Swim

In the past years, the boys varsity swim team has been a force to be reckoned with. Coach Gary Strickler expects nothing but excellence as the boys start training for their upcoming season on Nov. 24th.

Their team, which will contain up to 36 boys, is aiming to win SVL and to place in the top four schools at states. With the help of some key swimmers, Strickler’s goals for the approaching season are not out of reach.

Junior Nehemiah Mork, senior Zack Hoffman, junior Nick Pixton, juniorTyler Befus, and sophomore Noah Behm are all expected to excel in their strong suits. Stickler also believes their 200 medley relay and 400 free relay should do very well.

To reach these high expectations the Chargers will have some difficult competition.

“We swim Dexter, Grosse Point South, Battle Creek Lakeview, and Forest Hills,” Strickler said. ”All are ranked in the top 10 teams [in the state].”

The Chargers next meet is Jan 23. away against Flint Southwestern.
