This year for Homecoming Spirit Week the themes are Pajama Day, USA Day, Disney Day, Neon Day and finally, Charger Spirit. The spirit week will take place Sept. 22-27.

Many students believe spirit week is a great way to get excited about Homecoming and to participate and feel included at DHS. 

“I feel like it brings us together as a school community, and it’s a fun way to get excited for Homecoming,” senior Kendra Johnson said.

Johnson also said that many people help come up with ideas for spirit week, including many people in her Student Leadership 3 class, her teacher Chelsea Berg and others.

“As a class we come up with a bunch of ideas,” junior Ashley Pietrzak said. “We brainstorm. We have this huge, giant list, and then we pick ones that we really like from that list.”

A lot of students believe spirit week helps students come together and get excited about Homecoming. This year’s Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, Sept. 27.
