Around their\u00a0junior year in high school, many teenagers start to need more and more money but don\u2019t have the time to earn it. Junior Amber Roberson is able to do well in school, have a job that she enjoys, and uses it as a learning experience for her career.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt first, I didn\u2019t know it was going to turn into a job,\u201d Roberson said. \u201cI started to just take lessons there and Helen, my boss now, said if I wanted to, I could work in exchange of lessons.\u201d<\/p>\n
Roberson\u2019s job is to take care of around 40 horses at Pal Stables in Hemlock, Michigan. Her job includes bringing them all in at the end of the day when she gives hay, grain, and water to them, then fill the hay tubs back up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love animals and horses, and it is a great learning opportunity for me because I plan on maybe being an equine vet and having my own horses in the future,\u201d Roberson said. \u201cIt gives me great experience working with horses and animals in general.\u201d<\/p>\n
Roberson typically works from about 1-7:30 p.m., and she has worked there since August of 2014.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy favorite part of this job is being with the horses and the other animals they have out there [dogs and cats],\u201d Roberson said. \u201cI also love the free lessons I get out of it!\u201d<\/p>\n
