Sixteen-year-old junior Austin Reim has made it to states for wrestling. After a hard season, he made it as the lowest seed in his weight class. He will be participating at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where he will be facing the best talent he\u2019s seen to date.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s never easy by any means, they won\u2019t be pushovers by any means,\u201d senior Oliver Schihl said. “He\u2019s going to face the best of the best.”<\/p>\n
Reim, according to his teammates, has really stepped up his game since he\u2019s made it to states. It\u2019s not just a sport he\u2019ll be doing for fun, it\u2019s, something important to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s gotten a lot more serious for him, definitely a lot more focused on him,” Schihl said.<\/p>\n
But this doesn\u2019t just impact Reim, his friends, and his family. It shows to the underclassman that they can do it, too. It\u2019s not just a dream, if they have the right skill it\u2019s now a reality. With hard work and dedication, they, too, can be there some day.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt drives us to work hard, work as a team,\u201d freshman Shane Oskvarek said. “We want to be like him.”<\/p>\n
The competition will be held March 7-8 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.<\/p>\n
