Every year DHS marketing students participate in Make-A-Wish projects that grants wishes<\/a> of children fighting certain medical conditions or diseases.<\/p>\n

This year, the wishes hit far closer to home. Teresa Warren, a Make-A-Wish representative, was thrilled to have her grandson, Gideon Janku. Janku is battling spitz nevus melanoma, a type of skin lesion that has no cure.<\/p>\n

“His wish was to go to Disney World and meet Mater of the CARS movie,” Warren said. “He was so excited he would ask all the time if it was time yet to go.”<\/p>\n

It was an experience for the students as well, as many found it rewarding to raise money for a special cause, while also tapping into newly learned marketing skills.<\/p>\n

“I thought it was amazing how much a non-profit organization could change a kid’s life, and the impact to the families and himself is incomprehensible,” sophomore Melody Wang said.<\/p>\n
