Many people look for a fun place to escape to on the weekends or during the summer to get away from their typical life. Sophomore Sophie Roeder and her brother senior Ben Roeder have a cabin located in Thompsonville at Crystal Mountain.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an hour and 45 minutes away and we go up about once a month,\u201d Sophie said. “The cabin\u2019s proximal location makes it easy to pick up and leave for a quick overnight stay.”<\/p>\n
Ben spent most of his summer living at his cabin while working at a nearby golf course.<\/p>\n
“It’s my favorite place in the world,” Ben said.<\/p>\n
The cabin is in a beautiful part of Michigan which makes finding peaceful places easy, but it is also home to both winter and summer activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the winter we go skiing, snowboarding and sledding and in the summer we go to the pool and nearby beaches,\u201d Sophie said.<\/p>\n
The Roeders\u2019 cabin also serves as a gathering place for their family and is especially convenient when it comes to graduation parties.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy older sister, Sydney, had her graduation party there in 2012 and Ben and I both plan on having our graduation parties at our cabin when the time comes,\u201d Sophie said.<\/p>\n
