We\u2019ve officially come upon the last week of this year\u2019s senior class. While I hope the time they\u2019ve had here is memorable, it\u2019s time for a new chapter in their lives. Soon they\u2019ll leave home and make a brand new set of friends, find new hobbies, and live in a completely different environment. This class graduating makes me quite sad because of the lasting bonds I\u2019ve made with members of the senior class. It has also made me realize how much of my time at this high school has already passed, and how close I personally am to leaving. This realization has inspired me to make sure I make my senior year the absolute best, because it may be the last time I see some of these people. And as much as I want to live far away when I\u2019m older, I will always be tied to Midland in some way because of the times I\u2019ve shared with the great people here.<\/p>\n
During my senior year, I want to focus all my effort in excelling at my commitments. For example, I will be on the Managing Web staff next year, and I want to do my best to make a difference in that program. It will also be my last year of cheering at Dow, which is something I\u2019ve done since my freshman year. I was disappointed with the way last year turned out, and hope change things this year. I want to put my best effort forward because this is my last chance to leave a mark here.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m also hoping that things will be like freshman year. Minus the dumb drama and confusion, but more of a \u201cwe\u2019re all in this together\u201d kind of thing. Freshman year we all hung out with each other, which was in some ways good. However, we strayed from this because of dating people in other grades, drama, etc. and our grade is very cliquey now. I\u2019m hoping we get that mentality back, so we can all go out with a bang.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s so many lasts to look forward to: homecoming, the Midland Dow game, football playoffs (hopefully!), my last competitive cheer season, senior spring break, prom, and graduation. And while these things may be our lasts together, I\u2019m hoping they\u2019ll be memorable for years to come. As scared as I am for it all to end, I\u2019m looking forward to my future.<\/p>\n
So congrats to the Class of 2014, you\u2019ve made it. Whatever you do in your life, don\u2019t forget the memories you made or the people you met here, because we won\u2019t forget you. Hopefully in a year when I\u2019m in your shoes I\u2019ll feel as if I made my senior year the best it could be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
