\u201cThe purpose of the camp is to do what we can to get their minds off of what\u2019s going on,\u201d freshmen Kassandra Strahl said.<\/p>\n

Strahl has been working with the people of Camp Centaur, a pediatric camp for children who have cancer or children with immediate family members with cancer, to help organize fundraisers. The children ride horses, fish in a pond, create arts and crafts and play games.\u00a0 In order to do these things, however, the camp must do fundraisers.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 12, Camp Centaur is having a walk\/bike-a-thon at the Midland City Forest to raise money for the camp. The event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm and all proceeds go to the camp. There is also a chance a raffle to win a 21 speed bicycle.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 13, they are having a fundraiser, the Enchanted Forest, at the Sport Horse Center south of Bullock Creek High School. The event starts at 1:00 and ends at 4:00 pm. There will be pony rides, games, prizes and a \u2018trick thru the woods\u2019 where children can get candy. They are also accepting donations of candy for the \u2018trick thru the woods\u2019.<\/p>\n
