The boys played against the number one seed in Divisions I and III, \u00a0Ann Arbor Huron and Detroit Country Day School, respectively. MHS also participated in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">DHS tied with Country Day but took the title with a 5-3 win over them.\u00a0 They won over Huron 5-3 and defeated MHS 8-0.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Set back by a rain delay early in the day, the boys played late into the day, finishing the quad with the four singles match against MHS.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;The team\u00a0played\u00a0pretty\u00a0well,&#8221; sophomore William Kirkman said. &#8220;We were pretty confident and we came out strong because we were playing some tough teams.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">One singles Kirkman won all three matches along with two singles senior Julian Guerra and one doubles team seniors Vikram Shanker and Jason Chang. Three singles freshman Varun Shanker, and two doubles team senior Patrick Eschbach and sophomore Colin Angell both went 2-1 in the quad. Four singles sophomore Michael Szabo, three doubles junior Daniel Magno and senior Seamus Bartlett and four doubles junior Cole Williamson and sophomore Spencer Bouck all went 1-2 for the day.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;It was pretty nice winning the power quad with the best team in the state,&#8221; \u00a0Varun said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The DHS boys varsity tennis team won their power quad on Oct. 12 over Detroit Country Day School.
