Recipients are selected based on nominations from students in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teachers and administrators met in Central Auditorium on Tues., Aug. 12 and listened to English teacher Sam Nelson and principal Scott Cochran give a speech prior to the announcement of Pieratt\u2019s achievement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPart of the process is people get up and start speaking about a person before they say their name,\u201d Pieratt said. \u201cSo I was thinking about all the people that it could be as I was sitting in the crowd, thinking about all the amazing teachers that I teach with at Dow High.
