The central attraction of the meeting was a karaoke competition. Students signed up to perform songs in different languages.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The person behind German Club, German teacher Brian Smith, thought it was a good way to attract students to the club. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYeah, because it gives the students a cultural reason to be here, not just hang around eat snacks and talk to friends,\u201d Smith said. \u201cBut also there&#8217;s something about the culture that they&#8217;re either engaged in or learning about.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This isn\u2019t the only meeting German Club is excited about. Club president and junior Molly Birch has her focus set on an upcoming meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI think my favorite event, which is actually a new event I have planned for this year we&#8217;re going to make their called Mozartkugel,\u201d Birch said. \u201cIt&#8217;s a candy that [we] will be making towards the end of the year at one of our last meetings.&nbsp;
