Students have the opportunity to improve their customer service skills by working as a cashier. A variety of fields, such as retail and the food industry, have cashiers as the first face of the business that the customers see. Senior Rachel Chichester worked at Pizza Sams, but she says that being a cashier is more than just working behind the cash register.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did all the salad bar and ice cream prep,\u201d Chichester said. \u201cI then tended to any customers that come to the counter and prepared food for them. I also took take-out or delivery orders.\u201d<\/p>\n
Along with working on responsibilities and learning how to multitask, Chichester gained valuable communication skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cI learned how to work with different people,\u201d Chichester said. \u201cAnd how to work with customers and help them.\u201d<\/p>\n
