In the midst of the new school year, new clubs are emerging all across DHS. One of the newest is the<\/span> Taking Action Against Sexism Club, which had its first meeting on Oct. 29. The club\u2019s purpose is to raise awareness and brainstorm ways to tackle sexism at DHS and the outside world. One of the specific points that the club focuses on is feminism.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of misinformation surrounding feminism so we wanted to clear the air and give people the opportunity to speak up about how to break down the barriers that we face,\u201d said club founder junior Faith Tabler. <\/span><\/p>\n

Another purpose of the club is to share ideas about how to make DHS a more accepting and inviting place for people of all genders. It is a safe space where everyone can talk about their experiences and thoughts about ways to improve. Anyone can attend the meetings, which are every other Tuesday in Ms. Nelson\u2019s room. <\/span><\/p>\n
