The girls varsity swim team has been a dominant force in the Saginaw Valley League and continue to prove their dominance over the competition. The team has set the record by winning the SVL for the last thirteen years in a row. The current team has shown that they could continue this strong streak set by previous impressive athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The girls varsity swim team consists of multiple senior swimmers. These girls seem to realize what the team could be and the work that they have to put into getting there. Senior short distance swimmer Emma Carlson recognizes this just as much as her teammates.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEverything has gotten a lot more organized and coach [Carl Smith] has made sure to keep up with teams who have come close to beating us,\u201d Carlson said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team has not been shy when it comes to early mornings and late nights of hard work. Swimming is very demanding and the athletes seem to realize this and continue to work hard towards their goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have morning practices at 5:15 a.m. every other day, and then between that till 6:30 a.m. we do like dry land, and then after school, we practice either at 2:45 p.m. or 5 o’clock and they go for two hours,\u201d Carlson said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The girls swim team has already been on a roll this year after winning their last meet against Alma.
