I have to have coffee in the morning to function, that\u2019s how my mornings go,\u201d sophomore Paul Weckesser said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While some students have a favorite, go to mug for every morning, other are more concerned with the content rather than the container.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11577 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0955-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0955\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0955-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0955-80x53.jpg 80w, https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0955-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\u201cI don&#8217;t really have a favorite mug, it&#8217;s just kinda what I can grab and it\u2019s usually the brown one,\u201d junior Ashley Neuenfeldt said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drinking coffee is almost like a daily ritual for some students, bringing it in everyday and not being able to function without it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI don&#8217;t function really well without my coffee, I have a cup on the way in and at least one more when I get here. I have a favorite mug, it\u2019s double insulated so it will keep the coffee warm for about 2 hours which is good for me,\u201d teacher Thomas Evans said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Letting students bring in coffee is also a choice that teachers face when teaching a class<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11578 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0966-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0966\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0966-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0966-80x53.jpg 80w, https:\/\/update.midlandps.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/DSC_0966-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs of this year I made sure I had the ability as a teacher to make that decision and when I was given a green light, I told my students they could bring in coffee,\u201d Evans said.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being able to drink coffee in the morning is the boost that many students need to get work done. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYeah Mr. Pickering doesn&#8217;t care at all and sometimes my second hour teacher gives [coffee] to me,\u201d Weckesser said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Davis Oberdorf<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many students start their day off with coffee as a way to wake up for class and as an enjoyable drink. \u201cI guess [it\u2019s] just something to drink.
